The brand's founder, Khal Mohammadi, began this journey in 1963 with the wool dyeing business. She learned the secrets of natural dyeing from her mother since childhood. Her mother was a true master craftswoman who obtained dyes from vegetables and plants and prepared wool and thread using traditional methods for many weaver families in the village. This knowledge, passed down silently from generation to generation over the years, guided Khal Mohammadi's work as a silent legacy.
Since 1978, the name Khal Mohammadi has come to represent not merely a type of rug in this region; it has come to embody a unique approach. Patterns drawn from ancient Turkmen rugs have been reinterpreted, sometimes through forms inherited from tradition, and sometimes through the master's imaginative vision. His greatest teachers were always his customers. He knew how to listen, took care to understand their needs, and viewed each rug not merely as a product to be sold but as a living part of their lives.
